Professor Ignacio Wistuba is a surgical and molecular pathologist with a strong record of scientific achievements in the study of lung and gastrointestinal cancers that includes more than 170 peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters. He is the director of the Thoracic Molecular Pathology Laboratory of the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Wistuba’s research interests include the elucidation of molecular abnormalities involved in the early parthenogenesis of lung cancer, the identification of molecular markers for prognosis, the identification of new molecular targets and the validation of biomarkers for targeted-therapy as well as identification of molecular markers associated to metastasis development.
